The Mission: No stereotypical roof or house involved in the design.
So I added small details of typical Tennessee landmarks. The logo colors are combined with blue and khaki, which can also exist as a monochromatic logo. I wanted to get away from the typical house and roof symbols. This is how this unique vintage-style-logo is created.
Typical Landmarks I used for Tennessee and Memphis:
— Tulip poplar tree (the tulip poplar was chosen “because it grows from one end of the state to the other” and “was extensively used by the pioneers of the state to construct houses, barns, and other necessary farm buildings.")
— Hernando DeSoto Bridge
— Great Smoky Mountains
— Pyramid (Memphis)
— 3 Stars for Tennessee (State flag)
