Story to tell in the infographic
The infographic illustrates different technologies, which can be used to measure the health of the environment in different natural environments. Please see picture 1 in the PDF below for a main source of inspiration, where we illustrated other technologies in a farming context; a (roughly) similar style and level of detail would be appropriate for your illustration.
Data to include in the infographic
Text boxes: For each technology included in the picture (drone, satellite, sensors, DNA sample, data cloud) there should be a text box where we will later insert 1-2 sentences briefly describing what that technology does (similar to picture 1 below). Please leave some space for these boxes. Example text boxes:
o Data cloud: “Data is collected according to standardized methods and is uploaded to data cloud. Companies/ investors / regulators / scientists can access relevant public biodiversity data while preserving private data.”
o Powerplant: “Companies could routinely monitor biodiversity in their environment using eDNA samples.”
Language: The final text will be in German, we will supply you with that in the end.
Elements to include in the infographic
Please see the PDF attached for example pictures of the objects to be included in the infographic.
Landscapes: We want to include different natural environments in the picture: ocean, forest, farmland, a river (running through the forest /farmland), and sky. Some details:
o Forest: The forest should contain some wild animals (e.g., deer, fox, owl). At 2-3 of the tree trunks there should be sensors (see example picture 2 below). At the bottom of the page there should be a visualization of the soil (see picture 3 below that contains some insects / worms). Please include a DNA sample in the soil (see picture 4 for inspiration).
o Ocean: The ocean should contain a few fish as well as a fishing boat (picture 5 for inspiration).
o Farmland: The farmland should have a beehive near the farm (picture 6 for inspiration) as well as a drone flying over the land (see picture 1 for drone example).
o River: Along the river there should be a powerplant and/or a factory (see picture 7 and 8 for inspiration), also there should be a DNA close to the powerplant / factory illustrating a DNA sample being taken from the river (picture 4 for inspiration).
o Sky: In the sky there should be a satellite over the ocean as well as a drone over the forest (similar to picture 1 below). Also, there should be a “data cloud” that is meant to collect the data from all the technologies (sensors, satellites, drones, DNA described above). Feel free to be creative if and how to visualize the data being transferred from the technologies to the cloud.

Other notes
Format: The infographic should be rather large with the format being A3 landscape. We will print the graphic across two pages, so please avoid to have any text and objects on the middle line of the picture. The main files should be in vector format, if possible.
