Business & Consulting
A focus on using the very latest technological methods in order to provide local businesses with custom websites that cause them to get new customers and potential future customers, as opposed to just a pretty looking website. We pay maximum attention to doing evidence-based marketing, meaning we use only the online strategies that experts determine are lucrative. In order to maintain excellent results, we measure everything that website visitors do so that any client of ours can be sure that their site is performing profitably. We include Android / iPhone compatibility, local search optimization, search engine marketing, social media, and integration with offline advertising via qr codes and virtual phone numbers. We also offer our customers specialized software to entice users to make themselves become available for long term marketing through email, facebook, twitter, sms, etc. We do all our work extremely cost effectively by using crowdsourced offerings like 99designs to give local businesses the affordable marketing they need within our current economic downturn. Current target customersare independently owned Restaurants and Salons (not big brands) and in the future we will target other types of local businesses like law firms and non profit organizations.
Several sites are very nice: 2) http://www.tatango.com/ the good parts >> this is a fantastic website because: - like the friendliness of the rounded corners and the overall simplicity of the site in terms of conveying its message and its content - colors are nice (grey textured background, orange gradient, gradient green button, dark grey text in a friendly font; - overall layout is nicely done with one full-width column containing the rounded corner orange section over 3 equal width columns, and a good enticement to scroll down because the heading text in each of the 3 subcolumns is visible above the fold. - top right content is very nice looking with call to action text to get users to call the sales team, and a very nicely spaced horizontal menu in a friendly and easily readable font size. We won't be having a login link though because our site will just be for gaining calls and emails and facebook likes. the slightly bad parts >> we won't want a testimonial like they have; instead, we prefer to have checkmarks like in the next example below - dont like the circular black & white photo because the black & white aspect is not visually pleasing in relation to the rest of the colors; also the bubbles coming into it from the top left of the circle are juvenile looking. What is nice however is how that element rises above and out of the orange background rectangle with the rounded corners. 3) http://www.tatango.com/free-trial-3 the good parts >> this again is fantastic, although it doesnt have the 3 columns showing a bit above the fold like in the example above. Whats great here is that the design is more readable than the example above, due to less information that needs to be read to get the message. The checkmarks tell the story and the green button is wide enough that the entire call to action fits within the button itself. We won't be having a video however like this page does, so we would probably want to use the extra screen space for highlighting our most recent offererings or most popular offerings. 4) http://insight.ly/features the good parts >> nice upper section; we would still want to have 3 columns beneath the upper section that would be somewhat visible above the fold to entice the user to scroll down; also we would still want a section someplace above the fold to show our highlighted offerings. 5) http://www.yodle.com/ This is a b2b site aimed at our type of clients and has the layout we like as mentioned above. 6) http://www.analyticsmarket.com/ Another very nice, friendly site with a slightly different layout that works nicely for us as well as the ones mentioned above, so feel free to try anything like this as well. Important note not mentioned above .... Highlighted offerings will be images + text, not just text. They will have enticements to click on them for a subpage that describes the offering/service. -
We are asking in this contest for a homepage layout only, then we will adapt that design ourselves for subpage layout as well as android/smartphone layouts. The main goal is to get businesses to see our offering and contact us by email or phone (or website form.) Because we have many services to offer with regard to online marketing, we want businesses to see in the homepage our categories of offerings and then they can click on the categories to see the individual components, which are the things like Local Search Optimization, or mobile website pages, etc. However, we would also like to have a section in the homepage that will be used for highlighting one or two of our best offerings such as QR code services or incentivized facebook fans, and we may choose to change this part of the website on a monthly basis to highlight new online marketing methods or any offerings that are most popular. We are savvy enough to change the coding ourselves, but need a portion of the website to be dedicated to this concept of a highlighted or special or seasonal service offering. The homepage has to be easy to look at, because the target audience we will be marketing to are the extremely-busy business owners. They need to be able to look at the website and know within 5 seconds what we do and how it can help them to gain more business. Therefore, we are looking for something not too complex, with good arrangement for highlighting our logo, our tagline, our special offerings, and our 3 categories of services. We don't have names for those categories yet so its fine to leave those as generic text. Also please note that we do not have a logo or tagline yet, but we expect the logo to be of the size used in tatango.com. We normally prefer to have a website design happen after logo design, but in this case we have to do the website first and then create a logo that fits. Feel free to use stock images, and let us know which ones to purchase for use in the final site. We prefer istockphoto or dreamstime or similarly priced stock image/illustration sites.
We are primarily aiming at local business owners who are too busy to read content, so the website will need to convey most quickly and easily our product offering and our call to action (make a telephone call or email us or fill out a form or like us on facebook). The local business owners are the ones who are not tech-savvy so age would be 40 and up; they don't have time to understand the workings of marketing via internet. They distrust anything that is new and anything that they cannot see and touch themselves, meaning they have a starting distrust whenever they think about internet marketing or facebook marketing or twitter. The site should make them feel at ease with regard to our offerings so that they don't distrust the idea of spending money on our services. Because our company is extremely well skilled in statistical optimization, we measure all marketing methods for each customer and the business owner can then feel comfortable by seeing the results of what he or she is paying for. We will be using our own knowledge to take the winning design into a iphone/android friendly format ourselves, so the winning design doesn't have to be compatible with the smaller format of smartphones.
