BGB got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Are you up to designing a website for a cloud-based service?
Check out BGB's Web page design contest…
execYOUtion (phonetically, it sounds like “execution” but with a YOU replacing the “u”) is a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service business platform. It aims to help companies execute better by defining and tracking the “what counts” execution factors – i.e. the specific 1-TARGETS, 2-MILESTONES and 3-BEHAVIORS that drive the sought results. The proposed value proposition is an evolution of our consultancy offering into a tech platform that uses cloud-based collaboration tools, traffic lights, dashboards, leaderboards to simplify and entice everyone in the organization to be on the same page. Our Target audience is primarily senior executives (CEOs, COOs, VPs, Directors) and to a lesser extent middle management.
1- Simple: The site has to be simple and to the point. The design should reflect MINIMUM paragraph-style text on the pages. Instead we should use videos, graphs, charts and bullet points to explain things. 2- Colors have to reflect the colors of the logo (black and red) - in addition to white off course. So the 3 main colors are: black, red and white. I will be sharing 2 versions of the logo (white on black background and black on white background). Feel free to pick the one that is most suited.
The following 5 pages are needed: homepage; how it works; the product; join the conversation; contact us. These will also be the pages on the primary navigation. In addition, the navigation should include a “sign-up” and "sign in" links. 1- Homepage: should include the primary navigation; an explanation video (which we are currently creating using a fast draw animation similar to this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6vXYq8Vm8s) - this will be the primary feature of the homepage; the homepage will also have (below the video) an option to schedule a demo; a carousel with either testimonials (text and picture) / video interviews / articles (in the blog section); and, the website footer (with sitemap, contact us and subscribe). 2- "How it works": similar to the "how it works section" on soapboxhq (http://soapboxhq.com/how-it-works), it should have various sections that explain the STEP-BY-STEP process of adopting our platform. The design should take into account that each section on this page will have very limited text and mainly made up of visuals /graphs, charts and (possibly in the future) videos. In fact the various sections on the soapbox site are a good reflection of the various sections needed (order may vary). 3- “Product”: Again, from a functionality point of view, very similar to the product page on soapbox (http://soapboxhq.com/product): the various sections on the page will have a title for the section, a screen shots of our actual product (which will also be shown either in an iPad, iPhone or laptop) along with an explanation of the features. a secondary navigation system (like soapbox is also needed). 4- Join the conversation: will be like a SEQUENTIAL page(s) like a blog but will include different types of media (Articles and video interviews) along with a search box, an archive and an option to subscribe. 5- a contact page with an address, map and a form.
Even though many of the ideas on the site are inspired by one website (soapboxhq.com), our site needs to have its own identity, it should be very simple and straight to the point. Please keep in mind that our target audience are CEOs and senior executives so they are very short on time and need to get the message very quickly.... and if they decide to take action (either through the "contact us" page or by "requesting a demo" these should be very visible).

Working with u.create was an absolute pleasure. Not only is his work excellent, it was delivered on time and to my exact specifications. What impressed me the most about the entire experience is the level of detail that he puts into his work. Ulfat did an excellent job responding to my feedback with multiple iterations with beautiful designs. We are excited to implement this design into our web page. Excellent work!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
