Design a site that targets Japanese Clash of Clans fans

Games & Recreational
The website offers tips, articles and videos on "clash of clans", currently one of the most popular mobile games on both App Store and Google Play. I've designed and coded up the current version of the website, but now I'm getting a bit of traffic to it and I'd like to give it a fresh new look. The target audience of the site are Japanese-speaking people of all age groups who play the game on either iOS or Android devices.
I'd like to see colours that resembles the theme of the game, but I'd like the theme to be cartoony, fun but not overly cute. It would be really great if you could include original art of the characters and buildings and include them in the designs - I'm hoping to give it a unique look to the site and differentiate it from other CoC sites that just use art from the game. Obviously I'm not fussed about typography as it's gonna be in Japanese and I'm unable to use fancy and cool looking fonts, so please just use English in your designs I'll be ok as long as the logo is in Japanese, sort of looking like the one on the current site.
Single post page: It's the page that displays each post/article. This would be the most frequently used template on the site. The components apart from the header and the footer are roughly: breadcrumb, title (h1), meta data of the article (published date, last modified date, categories, tags, author, # of comments), few different levels of headers (h2, h3 etc), bulleted lists, tables, links, social media buttons, related article list, previous & next article buttons/links, and lastly a search box and the most recent articles list on the right hand side. Please also refer to the current version of the site. Home page: This page will list out the main categories of the site: Attack Strategies, Raiding, Profile Transfers, Videos, and Miscellaneous. Each category listed should include an image, a title, meta data (author, comment count, published date) and description of the article with a link to "read more". The page will show curated links from few sites (as in the current ver) under this section. On the right hand side there should be search box and a list of most recent articles.
What to avoid
Anything that looks out of place
If possible I want to have a new logo done based on the current one. With regards to the language of the site, please don't worry and just use English for your design, I'll convert to Japanese afterwards
