Virtual Instructor got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Create a friendly and easy to navigate site that highlights our software training programs

We provide LIVE, one-hour, online, instructor-led classes in Microsoft and Adobe programs in all levels. We also have online videos and downloadable training guides. We are just getting ready to open up to the public. Right now we are the official online training program for the staff at U.C. San Diego and U.C. Berkeley.
Open to your ideas. I am a programmer that has made the site appear very simple, but the site is customized based on the user's email address. For example, the site changes to show what U.C. San Diego wants their people to see and changes to show what U.C. Berkeley wants them to see. But you can tell I don't have an graphic design talent :-( So I'm open to any ideas. We make learning technical information easy and fun. Our market is primarily companies with 200 + employees and people who have administrative and analyst positions. We are branching into other types of training for companies such as sales training. I do want the images to be used in responsive webpages so they will look good if viewed on a cell phone (portrait or landscape) as well as an ipad, laptop or desktop. Unfortunately many of the larger organizations are still using Internet Explorer 9 so I need to make sure that the graphics will still look decent in IE 9 :-(
Home Page: make it easy for people to understand what we do and have easy navigation to view our course descriptions, course dates and times, video library, search box (to display a page with all the courses, videos and downloadable training guides that match the search criteria) and a small, but easy to see button to log in. Course Description Main Page. This page shows links to all the PC and MAC software programs we offer. Currently we offer Microsoft Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Publisher, Visio, SharePoint 2013, Word and Windows as well as Adobe Acrobat, Dreamweaver and Photoshop. We also offer HTML5 / CSS3 website classes. We are getting ready to offer Google Docs training. Detailed Course description pages. This page format will be used to show the actual courses we offer for a specific software program. For example, we have 9 Series of Classes for Microsoft Access for a total of 80 one-hour courses. Our Excel classes have 8 Series for a total of 43 one-hour classes and some courses like PowerPoint have 3 Series for a total of 17 one-hour classes. Products. We will be offering the ability to sign up for one class, watch one video or sign up for our subscription programs: Bronze - one year unlimited access to our video library, Silver - one year unlimited access to the video library and download training guides and class files, Gold - silver options plus attend as many live, on-line, instructor-led, one-hour courses for an entire year and Platinum - gold plus the ability to schedule one-on-one on-line consultations. What to avoid
I'm pretty much open to anything you think will look good.
My current website is very easy for my users to navigate, but is not very pretty or professional. I am a Photoshop user and can work with existing images and graphics to modify them for my website, but I just don't have the talent to come up with the ideas myself. :-) I also am a php programmer so I will be programming the website and all the pages will be responsive. My logo uses Avante Garde for the text - it was designed for me many years ago. I only got a .jpg version of my logo back then and now use Photoshop and a vector version of the apple when I need different sizes for my logo. I'm attaching the vector apple, a photoshop.psd file of my logo and a .pgn version of my logo.
