JEC - Justin got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Bring eBook to life on existing website

Business & Consulting
We serve as business coaches and strategy consultants to small businesses.
The style of these pages needs to fit neatly with the aesthetic of the rest of the existing website (https://agentsofefficiency.com/) and with the design of the book itself (attached). Most importantly, the color scheme of the existing website should be followed, and the design should take into consideration the grey/charcoal header that will be present at the top as the user scrolls down. (See, e.g. https://agentsofefficiency.com/blog/ or https://agentsofefficiency.com/questions/).
PAGE 1 should be the Title Page / Table of Contents / "About the Book" page (found in the attached PDF on the top of the LAST page - in the black section of the back cover) and table of contents page. Similar to https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo, but designed to fit my website, color scheme, and minimalist/modern style... and the cover of the attached book. PAGE 2 should be the layout for Chapter 2 of the book (as an example we can follow for future chapters as well) - similar to https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo/how-search-engines-operate, but taking into consideration all the notes expressed about that site above.
What to avoid
Again, the color scheme of the existing website should be followed.
I've attached the full eBook that I'm trying to bring to life on the website here. The goal here is how can we really make this stand out as a well-designed BOOK - not just 8 blog articles linked together. How can we leverage graphics, text placement, etc. to accomplish that, and keep the readers engaged throughout OVER 12,000 words (or 1 hour! !!!) of content, - while also (1) letting users know where they are within the 8 chapters of the book structure at all times, and (2) calling attention to 2-3 CTAs - the ability to download the eBook for free, buy the big book on Amazon, or - as relevant for certain chapters - download a whitepaper or other free (lead magnet) tool for free... without relying on a side-bar which would just bullet-point those things down the side... and make this feel like a blog. THIS IS A TRUE DESIGN CHALLENGE! The winner will have to devote serious creative energy toward making something very design-heavy here... I'm not interested in just seeing a blog with a few pictures shoved in-between a few paragraphs. Also, I'M LOOKING TO DEVELOP A LONG-TERM RELATIONSHIP WITH THE WINNING DESIGNER. I'm using this contest, in part, as an interview process of sorts to find a talented designer that I can use (1) to flesh out the other 9 pages of this project (other than the 2 described in the scope here), then (2) help me with the design of other pages and sections of this growing site, and possibly (3) be a resource I can refer my clients to as well. NOTE: I already have a development team to execute these designs and build them out in WordPress... I'm looking for pure design and UI/UX talent here... I've got the development talent covered. SEE WIREFRAMES FOR MORE DETAILS: Also note that, in an effort to be as clear and helpful as possible for this challenge, I have attached wireframes for both pages 1 & 2 of this competition to this brief. 2 PAGE CONTEST: Finally, please note that the hardest design challenge, in my opinion, will be how you interpret Page #2 of this design. Consequently, if you want to be considered as a finalist for the second round of this contest, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND showing me your best work on PAGE 2 of this project, in addition to Page 1.

And then… they selected a winner!
A whole website re-do project with Cool Designer went really well. CoolDesigner is definitely efficient and do have a sense of combination of marketing and art.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
