Description of the product target audience
Females (70% vs 30% male), Professional hair stylists as well as consumers. They aren't overtly wealthy but will spend money on a hip, stylish, and awesome product that borders on the expensive side. A great example of a competitor that has a similar style and audience (and price point) is R+Co. Please see our branding guide for more detail.
We're looking for labels for our organic shampoo and conditioner. We're looking for designs that are different, bold, and will help our products stand out against so many other haircare products (without being gimicky). Please note: We are really trying to go in a different direction than our current design (colors, graphics, bottle color, style and tone) so really the only thing we'd like to incorporate is the "Steam" logo, which we have uploaded as .ai and .svg for your reference and use.
What to avoid
We definitely want to avoid the dark (brownish) color of the plastic bottles we currently have, we're leaning towards a white or semi-transparent bottle color but haven't made a decision yet. We're not really into overtly feminine/girly designs. We're technically a luxury brand but we really want to avoid looking like we'd be on mob wives. Not gaudy, tacky, but rather haute, chic, and bold.
We're still evaluating new bottles so we're open to suggestions but we're looking at bottle sizes in the 2oz, 8oz, and 1 litre categories.
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their product label.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
randX collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Buddha on a Bicycle
I asked the designers to make a stylish attractive label for my Crystal and Aura Spray his design stood out for its beauty and simplicity and that he seemed to get what i was looking for straight away.
He was very easy and comfortable to work with - he allowed me to continue adjusting as long as I wanted and was polite and respectful at all times- I would definitely work with him again
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
