Pro Store Solutions LLC is creating a line of mens’ hair care products. The initial product line will consist of 4 products; a shampoo, a conditioner, a styling gel, and a forming cream. There are 8 SKU’s total - 3 shampoo bottle sizes, 3 conditioner bottle sizes, 1 styling gel size, and 1 forming cream size. This product line will be branded krieger + söhne. Artwork should use the ™ designation for the krieger + söhne mark. The target audience for the product line is the 25 to 45 year old male. Think about the professional man who thinks he has outgrown Axe, but still wants a cool product. That is the genre in which krieger + söhne will be positioned. The product line is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2014. The krieger + söhne products will be sold direct to consumer, primarily through independent barber shops. Bottle art will be in 4 languages - English, French, Spanish, and German. The design is to be edgy, contemporary, modern. The use of rotated fonts, and clean, crisp lines is encouraged.
What's your vision?
You are being asked to develop a look for our new brand. You have complete freedom in many design elements. Including font selection, color, font orientation / rotation, background color, rule lines, and logo design. The practicalities of manufacturing limit the creative freedom slightly. The product will be labeled using a clear label stock with 4 color process printing. Your art must fit within the die line of the label for the appropriate size package. Assets (logo for masthead, bar codes, et cetera) are attached to this contest. For the FINAL deliverable: Art for each of the SKUs should be delivered in a two page press ready pdf - page size 11” x 17” landscape. Each page should include a Pro Store Solutions LLC masthead. The masthead should include our logo, company name, address, and 2 websites (krieger-soehne.com and prostoresolutions.com). Page 1 should include: A 100% scale isometric rendering of the art on the bottle. There should be 2 views - front and back. The SKU number, description, and UPC bar code for the applicable SKU. Page 2 should be the lay flat art for the label. In addition to the press ready pdf, you must deliver the native art files in whatever program you use to create the art - InDesign, Illustrator, et cetera. Any fonts used must be provided with the native art files.
This 99 designs competition is to take the project to stage 2 as defined in the design brief. --- Stage 2 - Finalize art for four SKUs (16 ounce shampoo, 16 ounce conditioner, 8 ounce styling gel), and 4 ounce forming cream. In the initial stage of this competition, please focus on the front panel look and feel. That is where our product will need to differentiate itself.
