Games & Recreational
We are creating a second screen mobile gaming experience (for iPhone) for use while watching sporting events on television. (For this contest, we are only looking for a wireframe UI for the iPhone, and no graphics)
None... (don't want to influence your creativity/interpretation)
N/A. This contest is for a wireframe UI design only. No art/style/themes necessary. Interface design should be target mobile touch devices (phone and/or tablet formats)
--- OVERVIEW --- We are creating a mobile game for use while watching sporting events on television. The goal of this design task is to create an intuitive interface for the game concept described below. This project is more of a UX/UI project than a graphic design project; in fact, we are not looking for art or graphic assets at all, only conceptual wireframe mockups. The winner will be chosen based on accurate interpretation of the concept, simplicity, and (most importantly) intuitive design. --- GAME CONCEPT --- - While watching a live sporting event on TV, the user interacts with the mobile game which is displaying realtime information about the event and teams. - The player will have virtual game credits/currency given to them when the sign up to play the game. Feel free to find ways to use this in your game/UI design. - The chance that Team A will win changes in realtime as events occur (e.g. scoring, possession change, field position, etc), likewise for Team B. This data is shown to the user in the mobile game. - The user accumulates points throughout the game as each team’s chances of winning fluctuate. (How this occurs is the focus of the Design Task described below) - If Team A wins, then the chances of Team A winning will finish at 100% and the chances of Team B winning will finish at 0% - The player who has accumulated the most points is the winner. - (Note: The game concept description is deliberately vague to encourage creative interpretation.) --- DESIGN TASK --- - Display the scores for TeamA and TeamB, as well as time remaining in the sporting event. - Display the current probability for each team to win - Allow the user to interact with the game based on whether they think a team’s chances of winning will go up or down. - The probability may go up and down many times during a game allowing multiple opportunities for the user to interact and change their direction. - If the user selects the correct direction they will be rewarded with points relative to the margin. e.g. if the number goes from 39% to 40% they get 1 point and if the number goes from 39% to 49% they get 10 points. - Choosing the wrong direction will cause the player to lose points. --- GUIDELINES --- - Focus on UI/UX design using generic mockup style instead of art/graphic design. - The interface must be intuitive upon first glance, this includes obvious call-to-actions (CTAs), data display, and interface structure. - Feel free to provide a description of UI to supplement your mockup.
