Logo redesign needed for concrete company celebrating 50 years

Knight's Companies has asked our firm to provide them with ideas for a possible logo redesign/evolution. They are celebrating 50 years in business and are considered a legacy brand in the Charleston, SC market. They'll will likely want something bold in reds and blue, similar to their existing mark. The will need the flexibility to replace "Companies" in the mark with each of their division names (Precast, Redi-Mix, Septic, Trucking and Pumping) to create alternate logos for use by the respective division. The would also like to see "50 years" somehow incorporated, which would be used only for 2019. We should be able to drop the mention of the years in business come 2020 and still have the mark work. They do not want to see anything medieval used to represent a "knight." Besides, there is another trucking company locally that already uses that concept. Nothing literal like a cement mixer either. They are probably more interested in a word mark, although I'd welcome the attempts to work in some graphic reference to their industry. Good luck and THANK YOU!
