Dave Burns got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Logo needed for Dave Burns Photo Tours
Check out Dave Burns's Logo design contest…
I guide/instruct exciting, once-in-a-lifetime photo tours to remote destinations (e.g. Africa, Mongolia) and sell them to photographers of all skill levels. The demographic usually skews more mature with some discretionary income but who want to get out and explore the world with their cameras.
Logo types to explore
I need a logo that: - will be used initially to establish an online presence but will also look good later when I need to use it on a business card, embroidered on a hat, etc. The most immediate use will be on the left-hand side of my web-site's header. - has a splash of color in it for style but also looks good when monochrome is required. I don't have strong feelings about specific colors yet. - will look good when reduced in size: I will probably use it as the image for my Facebook and G+ pages and any other online avatars. One thought I have is to have the logo laid out so that a graphic element is next to my company name so that I have the option of cropping and using that alone - that is not a hard requirement though. While my initial tours will be to adventuresome locations like Africa and Mongolia, I don't want elements in the logo (e.g. a lion or elephant) that prevent mefrom selling a location like Paris or Tuscany. The tagline that may go with the logo is "Let Your Vision Run Wild". I tend to like simple, bold, graphic elements but not too simple. Some way to mix a bit of flair with the simplicity would be great. I usually don't like symmetrical designs. Some concepts that might help your design ideas: travel, photography, adventure, journey, exotic, exciting. At a minimum, the file I require will be a high-resolution, uncompressed TIFF. An original vector file (e.g. Adobe Illustrator) is also ideal if that is your source file.
