tamara.ceman got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Design a logo for InsiderHub – internet start-up company

A little bit about us: We have recently started our rebranding efforts, changing our name to InsiderHub, but are still operating under our current name – CollectMyThoughts and our website is available here: www.collectmythoughts.com for further insight. We’re aiming to become the go-to place for business buyers and support them during their buying process. Investing in a new business solution can cost a lot, both in money and in reputation if you make a bad choice. Our website acts like a platform where existing users of solutions get to share their opinion and rate them based on their experiences. We allow vendors / supplier companies to participate to a limit, but don’t allow them to influence the ratings in any way. This way, we’re guaranteeing that the information displayed on our website is impartial, unlike many of our competitors. We’re growing and have recently entered the ‘big leagues’ and we need our brand to reflect that. To make sure we’re delivering on our promises, we are building a unique community of business users, buyers and vendors alike, where business users can communicate with each other, asking for further information on their experiences or just discussing ideas. Our current colors are completely off-track and we need to freshen up the palette. The new logo will be a big part of our new brand identity and will influence the color setting on our new website. Our target audiences: We are catering to 3 distinct audiences and need to make sure that our new logo speaks to all of them. These are: - Business users – people who have used a business solution and would like to contribute by adding their review on our website. This audience is our primary audience. People in this group can be anywhere from junior and mid-level business professionals, to senior level, executives and small business owners. - Business buyers – business reps and decision makers who are looking to invest in a new business solution and would like to make sure they are making the right decisions by reading reviews on our website - Vendors / business suppliers – businesses offering various business solutions that are featured on our website. We are focusing mostly on the US market, so please keep that in mind when submitting designs.
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors: Blues: Knowledge, trust, calm and honesty. Aquas: Empathy, compassion, clarity and precision. Let designers make suggestions: A little bit more on the colors: We would like at least two colors or two shades of same color represented in our name. We want the colors to speak about: trust, information, success and community. The color we are mostly leaning towards is blue (no specific shade, but stronger is better) but are open to other suggestions as well. The words Insider and Hub should to be in different colors / shades, so that each word is distinct and easily recognizable. Please just steer away from earth-tones for the base of the logo. We will need to see all suggestions in black and white variations as well, as we need to think about later implementation to various documents and collateral. Style attributes: We are undecided regarding the overall shape of the logo. We would ultimately like to have an icon that is not necessarily incorporated in the logo itself that we would use for bookmark icons and similar. The overall look and feel should be – modern, smart, business, professional but refreshing and inviting.
The name can be used as both InsiderHub and insiderhub. We are open to all options. The new logo needs to be timeless. IMPORTANT: I know that most designers prefer to work on a Blind contest, but since this is the first time we're organizing the contest - we are technically unable to make this competition Blind. So please bear with us here. We will not tolerate copycats and each individual will receive personal messages from me on guidance. So if a copycat is noticed OR reported by a contestant - their submission will be eliminated.
