tommy99 got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Corrosionpedia.com needs a new logo
Check out tommy99's Logo design contest…
A new website directed at the Corrosion Protection and Sealing industry. This industry has several product lines including protective paints, pipeline coating, road products and other products used in Oil & Gas and marine applications.
This logo is for a general information site about corrosion products and services. The site will contain a large number of terms and definitions specific to the industry. Of course, corrosion is signified by red or rust (which is very bad) and a surface that is shiny, chrome or silver-like that is sparkling clean is good. As a result, the logo should signify this. It should have a bright shiny, "new" look with reflective surfaces. The website domain name should be part of the logo design and maybe upper case, all lower case or a combination. We do like the idea of an image or graphic that represents the products we discuss on the website - "corrosion" and/or "paint". The "pedia" of the domain name refers to the fact this website will be mostly educative - listing industry-specific terms and definitions. To see a sister website of ours that will be similar, go to http://www.techopedia.com. This site uses the same Bootstrap-based design and layout. Note the shape and size of the logos from these sites - the same template will be used on the new Corrosionpedia.com website, so the proportions, rough size etc. should be similar. The attached color palette will give you a good idea of approximately what colors will be used. You are not restricted to these colors but do not include a red or rust or browny-red color of any shade. Please see attached color palette for website colors. The graphic designer whose logo we pick will be asked to come up with a series of related images that can be used throughout the website as additional design work.
