The Conscious Nail Salon
Cosmetics & Beauty
The name Footsie comes from the meaning of two people flirting with each other using their feet using under the table, a playful expression of romantic interest. We are an eco-friendly nail salon using non-toxic, vegan, organic, made in-house and locally sourced products, providing unparalleled customer experience. We target women 28-40 years old living in an affluent shopping mecca in the San Francisco bay area. Not sure if this is helpful, but I see my clients as the Modern Hippie with lots of money. Conscious but fancy. Like to be pampered, read Vogue magazine, but spend a bit more for things with meaning.
Other color requirements
I don't particularly enjoy Red or Beige and don't want any primary colors. I like unique variations of colors/mixes. They're more interesting. No pastels, but soft colors are ok as long as they aren't washed out so much that they don't pop. Think fun, but sophisticated.
Though we are an earth-conscious brand, I want to make the logo a stronger, high-end feel than many eco-friendly brands tend to represent. I don't want the DYI look that tends to appear in these types of brands. I like clean look, but not too plain. If there is an image of something, for example, a flower, then I would want them very detailed, to show the beauty inside of a kind of cartoon version of it. Note: I am note saying hat I need flowers, but if you add flowers, I would want multiple, not just one. Also, I do not want a hand or foot I just think it can look cheesy. Unless somehow you incorporate two people playing footsie...Not sure. I don't want a branch or a leaf like many Organic eco-friendly brands have. The only plant would be wild flowers in a beautiful way with tons of color, without being too feminine. I don't like pastel colors however lighter versions of colors is ok. I enjoy variation of pink, but not barbie pink, more off/odd pinks and also, magenta purple mixes, however not tied to that. I enjoy that they seem to give a powerful feminine feel while being trendy and provide a pop. I also enjoy unique greens serene blues and blue-green mix. Metallics, sparkles without being obnoxious. I don't want cutesie. Even if its simple, there should be interesting detail in the simplicity. I am not sure, but I may like the idea of a monagram as well as "footsie" and "The Conscious Nail Salon". The storefront signage will have FOOTSIE in large bold metal letters above an all glass entrance. Our target client starts at the older end of the Millennials, so we must keep them in mind and of course for longevity, they will grown into our entire target clientele. So I want to appeal to them without making the 40 years old feel likes its too young or cheapened. Upscale trendy feel. Our decor is mainly whites, grey, silver, glass, neutrals, sheer window treatments, an airy luxurious environment with plush seating and lounge area serving champagne and wine. I will have pops of light pink rose, greens from natural floral arrangements peony, hydrangea, eucalyptus and other green foliage. I may entertain more pops of color in the salon, but for the most part, we have a clean look. I would like some color in our logo so its memorable a little fun and current. I want it to pop. 30 is the new 20, 40 is the new 30 vibe. I don't want it to girlie, as we do have some male clientele and many of our women bring in their boyfriends, so they need to feel comfortable. It cant be all pink. Also keep in mind that I do not like the color red or any primary color. I'd like unique mixes of color so its interesting. You can play on nail polishes or the meaning of the name Footsie, but I don't want anything we've seen before, like no hand being painted. NO. I want the font to be very clear and easy to ready. I do not like the cursive, obscure, whimsical feminine fonts. I don't want it to be cheesy, but there should be personality, maybe a bit of respectful attitude/confidence/Girl Boss careful not to be offensive or inappropriate. There can be some playfulness. A fun Millennial who is strong female, quality, while being a Chanel-carrying, high heel wearing modern vibe. Someone with expensive taste, but not boring bougie :-) Approachable, intriguing.
