Nã Pola Ki'i is 'Olelo Hawai'i (Hawaiian Language) for "Banana-Blossom Pictures" Also, while this text block shows the line over the a in Nã as a squiggly line, it truly should be a flat bar above the ... The banana flower, to me, is something unexpected and often overlooked as the average person thinks on bananas or even harvests their ... As a filmmaker and artist I feel I want to use my tools and trade to highlight these qualities in the world around ... To find the unexpected ... To bring overlooked and suppressed issues into ... To tell stories that we know are true but swept under the rug or untold to this point and surprise the ... I guess I hope someone will ask themselves if they've ever seen a banana blossom just as they might ask themselves if they've ever seen or heard of what we may be exploring in our ... As posible imagery for a play on the words: Ki'i also is the word for Tiki in ... And like almost all Hawaiian words, Pola can mean many things; a platform or high seat between the canoes of a double-hull canoe, Banana flower, flap of loincloth or pa'u, tail of a ...
