I'd like to explore the following colors: Light neutrals (Purity, balance and sophistication.) Oranges (Creativity, adventure and happiness.) Yellows (Energy, intellect, fun and youth.)
I think most beauty logos are pretty tacky and outdated. I want the logo to emphasize community. I like web 2.0 logos with stylized fonts and a more simplistic / flat look such as the 1st example (umbrella). I think it would look great to be in white and set against a light pastel color like picture 2 (skylight). The 4th picture shows that it would be cool but not required to incorporate a pair of scissors.
