Mike.Stevens got their new infographic by running a design contest:
YouSolar - "How it works" graphic (NOT A LOGO)

Story to tell in the infographic
Please see attached ppt deck. We basically need a clever combination of slide 1 and slide 4. We want to show customers how the system works converting solar into energy. We need to show sunlight powering through solar panels then to the Microconverter (the YouSolar intelligent control unit) through the battery storage array, then through to powering the home. All controlled by a central monitoring service and a mobile app. For inspiration, please see Tesla Powerwall: http://www.teslamotors.com/powerwall. At about the 6-7 minute mark, the speaker explains how the system works. Tesla Powerwall is just ONE component of the YouSolar system (the battery), but Tesla makes a brilliant case for the YouSolar system (if people around the world start buying solar+battery systems like YouSolar, Tesla will sell a LOT of batteries).
Data to include in the infographic
show components: solar panels, lithium-ion battery array, YouSolar microconverter, mobile app, centralized YouSolar monitoring, and most important: clean, quiet power delivered to the home.
Elements to include in the infographic
Chart call-out that shows lower cost of YouSolar power.
The star of the show is the YouSolar intelligent control unit and the mobile app. The sun/solar and batteries are key components, but not what makes it all possible is the proprietary YouSolar technology. So, think of Tesla and YouSolar as they are on the same team. This is part of a larger corporate message we are hoping to develop. We are introducing the company and it's product at the same time. We need something easy to understand and friendly, yet technical enough that the reader "feels smart" after looking at it. There are a couple important parts to this story, this is the first where we hope to get introduced to a graphic artist who "gets it" and can help us develop a consistent corporate visual language.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Infographic starts at €549.

And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
