Brian891241 got their new infographic by running a design contest:
Mitchell Homes needs a new infographic
Check out Brian891241's Infographic contest…
Story to tell in the infographic
You will see in the rough drawing attached here, that we'd like to show the rising size of homes over time (based on the data found in the links above) as well as the fluctuations the market has seen in terms of average sale price, homes sold, and average home size going back to 1970.
Data to include in the infographic
Home Sales: 1970 - 2010 http://www.google.com/publicdata/explore?ds=d2p7r4l1574rh_&ctype=l&strail=false&bcs=d&nselm=h&met_y=new_homes_sold&fdim_y=seasonality:Not+seasonally+adjusted&scale_y=lin&ind_y=false&rdim=country&idim=country:US&ifdim=country&tstart=-1191600000&tend=1358485200000&ind=false&icfg home price data: http://www.census.gov/const/uspriceann.pdf Home size data: http://www.census.gov/const/C25Ann/sftotalmedavgsqft.pdf
Elements to include in the infographic
We'd like the infographic to contain a visual of the increase in average home size, whether that be a floor plan from the 1970s and a floorplan from today, or a front view of a home from the 70s and a front view today. We also would like a chart that maps homes sold over time, average home sale price, and average square footage. Finally, we'd like space for 3-4 facts about the changes in the housing market during that time. We will provide the bullets for that but you can use filler text for now.
Please be creative and feel free to suggestion your ideas. Thanks!
