Yani Hamilton got their new icon or button by running a design contest:
Logo for Housing Construction Software
Check out Yani Hamilton's Icon or button contest…
We have developed a computer program called "Tracker" to collect, analyse and report on the progress of government housing construction projects. The system is primarily used by Project Managers and Management to generate ad-hoc queries and reports.
What's your vision?
I need a brightly colored logo for "Tracker" (with or without the word itself) that can then be provided as a 32x32, 48x48 and 256x256 icon (.ico) file for use with Windows 8 and Windows 10. I additionally require this logo in .PNG format in sizes 48x48 and 256x256. All files should use a transparent background color. When the program starts it plays a sound sequence while different startup functions are run. I would like an 400x400 animated GIF that animates the program logo for approximately 3-4 seconds.
One of the most powerful features of the Tracker program is a report called the "Spectrum Report" which shows changes over time and a traffic light system of colors to indicate good progress (green), potential problems (amber / orange) and critical issues (red). The RGB colors used are 204,255,204 and 0,176,80 for two shades of green, 252,213,180 for amber, and 230,184,183 and 237,28,36 for two shades of red. Depending on your concept we could utilise these colors for some type of gradient fill - either in the logo itself or in the GIF animation.

And then… they selected a winner!
Adrian's design skills and quick responses to our feedback enabled us to get a very successful logo and animation in a short period of time. We will seek his services in future as new projects require and can highly recommend him and his work to others.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
