Design a minimal and moder app icon for car enthusiasts app

KarPage is an app for car enthusiasts to show their cars. Think of Instagram but for car people only!

I'd like to redesign the current app icon OR come up with an entirely new fresh look for my app for car enthusiasts. I need a clean, modern, minimal, unique look, with eye-catching design. I believe it's best to avoid falling into the trap of creating a "cliche" icon based around a car or a wheel, however at the same time when looking at the app icon on the screen of your phone, it should scream I'M AN APP FOR CAR ENTHUSIASTS. I would like to stick with the blue color, but I'm also open to some carbon fiber or brushed metal if you can clearly see it on the screen of the phone! Most icons look great on the computer screen, but when you put them on the phone screen its a different story!

However it's not attractive enough on the home screen on the phone) I've also attached a flat icon that I've designed myself, but I'm NOT gonna use it because anyone can download the same letter "K" and use it on something else! I need a unique, one of one icon! ( Also when you see it you don't have a clue that this is a car app). The Instagram app icon is perfect example of catching your eye and yet creative way to show the camera logo!
