This is a cover for a novel titled Slavery's Circle. The cover should feature the main character, Sylah Lessieg, in one of 4 scenarios described below. I am also open to any sort of interpretation of the title Slavery's Circle, or a combination of the circle and the images described below. A description of the main character, Sylah Lessieg, follows: "It was Sylah's Plutonian blood that made her so different from the other men and women who inhabited the facility. It was the gen-hance that had turned her eye color from brown to a cat-like yellow and her hair to glittering silver. It was the supposed health effects of colloidal silver that turned her skin from that pinkish human tone to the bright blue that everyone noticed first." SCENARIOS: 1: Sylah is walking across an icy plane in the daytime with several wounds (description below). The ice could either be flat or have a ridged mountain with a cliff at the top. There is no vegetation on the planet it is entirely ice. A large space freighter could be seen flying above the ridge. A description of Sylah's injuries follows: "Gauze was wrapped tightly around her right knee and her left wrist which were hyper-extended and broken respectively. She had wrapped a strap of gauze around her left thigh where the guard had gotten off a shot. The gauze bled through almost before she had finished tying it off. She tried to create a shoe for her left foot where Ace had pulled her sandal off to get the slave chain on. She had been too confused and upset to look for it before she sent him and the Chugger back towards the mines. Finally she wrapped a few pieces around her right hand to cover up the slices where she had stopped the knife in her fight with the guard on the ice. She ignored the numberless little scratches all over her arms and face." Additionally, she is wearing a black shirt and a short black skirt. Her sandal on her right leg has a knife in it. She has a cuff on her right wrist, left ankle and around her neck. 2: Sylah is being carried by Brint, (description below) through a small icy city towards an enormous space freighter. It is early in the morning. In this scene, Sylah will still be wearing the same clothing, with the knife in the right sandal, but her left leg is amputated just above her knee and some of the injuries are healed. She has a backpack on. Brint is a doctor and will be carrying a medical bag. He is also carrying a duffel bag full of canned food over one shoulder. He is wearing a heavy winter coat. A description of Brint Counselor follows: The man was tall, with short brown hair and wind-burned rosy cheeks. His close cut goatee was speckled with gray. A long white scar started on his forehead, swung close to his left eye, and went almost to his ear. A pair of glasses magnified his eyes and the scar. 3: Sylah is sneaking into a high security facility, with 12 foot electric fences, barbed wire, infrared cameras, and guard towers. The buildings inside the fence are three to four-story brick buildings with windows only starting on the second or third story and very few doors. The surrounding plant life is kind of jungle-like, definitely a warm climate. It is night time. Sylah is in dark clothes with a backpack on and her left leg is a robotic prosthetic that looks just like a normal leg only it is peach colored instead of the blue that the rest of her body is. 4: This is before any of Sylah's wounds mentioned above. She can be wearing whatever the artist feels is best, but something light and cool. There is a catwalk in a cave, the catwalk is crowded with as many people as will fit on it, half the crowd going one direction and the other half going the opposite direction on the crowded walkway. To the left can be a large gathering space where all the people are waiting in lines to go up to a window and get instructions then come back to cross the catwalk again. Most of the people are dressed warmly. Sylah has fallen over the edge (description below) and Ace (see description) is reaching over the railing to catch her by her left wrist. The ground is over 200 feet down. A stocky man (named 150) is sitting on the ground of the catwalk looking shocked, a woman (named 45) is standing behind Ace, scared or surprised. You can show this at any point of the fall. A description of Ace follows: "He was several inches taller than the other people around him and Sylah knew he was twice as strong as them. His eyes were as dark as his hair." He is wearing jeans, a black T-shirt with a blue long sleeved shirt beneath it, filled to the seam with muscles. A description of Slah's fall follows: "Forty-five tried to catch herself, and pushed Sylah’s shoulder back, at the same time that One-fifty crashed into Sylah’s knee. Sylah felt herself tipping over the edge. Her stomach dropped, adrenaline hit her brain like a hard drug and her heart pounded so loudly in her ears that it drowned out the screams of surprise and fear from the other people on the catwalk. She couldn’t even hear herself scream as she reached for something to grab. She felt her fingernails scrape the skin on Forty-five’s jaw. She grabbed someone’s sleeve but the material slid through her fingers. Two failed attempts to catch herself was all the time she had before her feet slipped off the metal floor, kicked One-fifty in the face, and her head went over the railing. "In one bone-cracking, skin-bruising grip Sylah’s body went from falling to jerking. She swung out even further from the catwalk, then back in. Her head slammed into the glass wall on the outside with such force that it shattered, cutting into her face, shoulder and arm. The broken glass fell towards the mine floor just like she would have done."
I put a lot of description into my scenes, but you obviously don't have to fit everything in that is mentioned, like the gathering space in scene 4, etc. Feel free to be creative with any of the options given, but don't forget to try and incorporate the title, Slavery's Circle if you can. The book will be in print at first, with an e-book probably following shortly after. The book is going to be a 4 1/4 by 7. Also, the book description on the back could look like it is printed on a bluish/gray book. I have attached a word file with the book description. The book could either be open or closed, but if it's open, you could make it look like it's on page 16. I don't have copyright to the image of Sylah attached below, it is just intended as an example.
