The Eighth Tier
Antani has been the Counsellor to the disillusioned King of Dyny for years, spending her time keeping things going and trying to forget the failures of her past. However, when a young witch with a terrible warning of a growing danger arrives from across the border, Antani must journey with him to settle the demons of her past once and for all - or lose more of her people to the scourge affecting her country.
Both genders, ages teen and up. Likes fantasy series and may be a fan of books with magic systems (and anime). The book is NOT similar to Game of Thrones, but is more accesible than other high fantasy like Lord of the Rings.
Book cover type
Should look less initimidating than most high fantasy - sans serif fonts preferred. Emphasis on adventure. Imagery to include: magic circles (inspiration could be taken from Cardcaptor Sakura), clockwork/slight steampunk style, could include a mountain somewhere as the centrepiece. Story is heavily based around a shrine within the mountain that is a mix of magic and machinery, and a glass creature dwells within it. Could include the two main characters - older woman (60+) and young, short teen. The teen is the witch who can use magic. If figures are included, they should be in silhouette. Colour schemes could be focused towards 'ancient' looking - i.e. take inspiration from Ancient Egypt or Greece
What to avoid
Any distinguishable faces, cartoon or otherwise. Features of the characters should be obscured so the reader can imagine it for themselves.

And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
